Birthday · Amsterdam

A QR photo album for your birthday in Amsterdam.

Birthday parties move fast: the cake comes out, the lights go down, and ten phones capture the same moment from ten angles. With Snapia, guests scan a QR code and add their photos, videos and wishes to one shared album from the browser — no app, no account. It works just as well for a first birthday at home as for a milestone 30th, 40th or 60th.

  • Guests scan and upload in the browser — no app, no account
  • Uploads resume on their own when reception is weak
  • A live wall for the venue’s screen, projector or TV
  • Print-ready table cards: vector PDF, PNG and SVG

Celebrating in Amsterdam

Amsterdam celebrations are held in canal-side venues, converted warehouses and churches, boats, restaurants and garden venues outside the city.

Good to know
Canal-side and boat venues can be compact, and it gets windy on deck, so use small weighted cards and keep any screen indoors. Guests upload from the browser without installing anything.
Light & weather
Changeable weather makes an indoor backup sensible for any outdoor moment, while long summer evenings give extra natural light for photos.

Moments worth capturing at a birthday

Share these as ideas — or turn a few into photo challenges for your guests.

  1. 01The birthday person walking into the surprise.
  2. 02The candles being lit and the whole room singing.
  3. 03The wish, the big blow and the cheer that follows.
  4. 04Gifts being opened and the reaction to each one.
  5. 05Speeches from old friends and family.
  6. 06Old photos recreated with the same people, years later.
  7. 07The dance floor, the games or the karaoke.
  8. 08Guests of every age together, from grandparents to the youngest cousins.
  9. 09The last ones standing at the end of the night.

Your plan, step by step

From setting up the album to downloading every original.

  1. Three weeks before

Create the album with the birthday person’s name and the date, choose Disposable camera and set how many shots each guest gets.

  2. Two weeks before

Design cards or a small sign in the print studio and export them as PNG or PDF; have them printed locally or print them at home.

  3. One week before

Add photo challenges like “recreate an old photo with the birthday person” or “the best candle-blowing face”, and switch on the guestbook for birthday wishes.

  4. On the day, before guests arrive

Put the cards on the tables and next to the cake, then scan one and upload a test shot.

  5. During the party

Mention the QR code in your welcome or when the cake comes out, and remind guests that their shots are limited, so they save a few for the candles.

  6. The next morning

The album opens for everyone once the event is over. Download the originals as a ZIP and give the birthday person the complete set.

Where to put the QR cards

  • Put a card on the cake table — it’s the most photographed corner of the party.
  • Leave a small card on every table or coffee table; at a house party, the living room and kitchen are usually enough.
  • Place one by the gift table to catch the unwrapping.
  • Add a short line to the card, such as “Your shots are limited — make them count!”, to build curiosity in Disposable camera mode.
  • At children’s parties, place cards at adult eye level — it’s usually the parents who upload.

Our privacy recommendation

Disposable camera

A limited number of shots per guest makes every photo count and gives the party a playful, film-camera feel. Everything opens after the event, so the next day becomes a second celebration as everyone sees the full album at once.

Questions about birthday albums

How does the Disposable camera mode work?

Each guest gets the number of shots you set, and nobody can see the gallery until the event is over. Then everything opens for everyone — a bit like collecting a roll of developed film.

Is it suitable for a children’s birthday party?

Yes. Parents usually do the uploading, and all they need to do is scan the QR code with their phone camera. Location (GPS) data is removed from stored photos.

Can guests upload videos or leave a message?

Yes, guests can upload videos. The written guestbook is included on all paid plans, and Premium adds voice and video messages.

How does the birthday person get the photos?

You can download the complete album in original quality as a ZIP, or send a share link, optionally protected with a PIN.

Does Snapia work at venues in Amsterdam?

Yes. Snapia runs in the phone’s browser over mobile data or Wi-Fi, so it works in any venue in Amsterdam — ballrooms, gardens, terraces or at home. Where reception is weak, uploads wait on the phone and resume automatically.
